Vietnam’s most famous and senior photographer Vo An Ninh

Vietnam’s most famous and senior photographer Vo An Ninh passed away at his home in Ho Chi Minh City on June 4 at the age of 103.
Vo An Ninh was born on June 18, 1907 in Hanoi. His first photo was published in 1932. With over 70 years as a photographer, he had made a great contribution to the national photography
His photos have great historical and artistic values. His collection of Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi and the famine in 1945 have become valuable documentary photos of Vietnam.
Some of his photos feature the landscapes of Sa Pa mountainous area, Tra Co beach now become immortal artistic photographic works.
The senior photographer won many prizes at home and abroad. He was presented the Vietnam’s noble award – Ho Chi Minh Award on literature and art in 1996.
Vo An Ninh was the founder of the Vietnam Artistic Photographers’ Association and a was a member of the Vietnam Literature and Art Union Central Committee.
